Laura Jacobson has worked in the legal field for more than 25 years in both California and Oregon. She started as a receptionist at a law firm in West Los Angeles and quickly moved into a position as a legal secretary. In 1995‚ she moved to Oregon to be closer to family. She worked at a large insurance defense firm in Oregon for 11 years‚ where she was a legal secretary‚ but was also responsible for training legal secretaries and other administrative duties. While there‚ she wrote a litigation training manual for legal secretaries in Oregon.

Before she joined the firm‚ she worked in banking for 6 years‚ and has appreciated the change and been challenged by the fast-paced work environment of the legal field.
